In order for the economy to be formed, production is necessary, and for the sustainability of production, products must reach domestic and foreign markets. Goods can reach their place freely in commercial activities within the country. But sending goods across the border and receiving goods from abroad are subject to customs procedures. These operations during, before and after export and import are carried out by customs brokers.

The profession of brokerage is very important for companies. Companies decide how they do business together with their brokers. The fact that the work done is done in a way that suits the laws, business ethics and human dignity increases the reputation of both brokers and companies.

While chartered accountants are taken into account by the treasury and the ministry of finance, customs brokers, unfortunately, are not taken into account properly. It's strange, but it's real! Customs brokers are trying to do business at the minimum tariffs set, expressing the disruptions that have occurred. The foreign exchange losses experienced by Turkey in foreign trade are obvious. Customs delays are the loss of the state, not the main foreign trading companies. The waiting costs, expressed in thousands of dollars, come out of the pockets of foreign trade companies. Customs brokers, who are responsible for protecting the rights and interests of these companies, constantly keep this situation on the agenda. But the competent authorities are watching this situation. In other words, unfortunately, one percent of the care and sensitivity shown to chartered accountants is not shown to customs brokerage. Of course, it is important here that customs brokers cannot be united and act in one body.
