Our Enlightenment Meeting On 'empathy For Barrier-free Success' Was Held

Our swimmers Mr. Beytullah EROĞLU and Mr. Uğurcan ÖZER, who have World, Europe and Turkey ranks, was here as guest speakers of our Social Responsibility Committee on 06.03.2019 Wednesday in MHÜ Conference Hall of our Headquarters within the scope of Enlightenment Meetings. We discussed the subject of "Empathy for Abled Success".

From asocial life to world championship...Our National Team Swimmer Mr. Beytullah EROĞLU shared the fact that he is disabled from birth, and said that before he would spend time with his family and therefore thought that one besides him was disabled. He explained that after he started doing sports this thought was changed, that he met with disabled athletes and that he loved how social they were. He shared with us that he saw disabled athletes succeeded many things even though they has similar physical conditions as he does and learned how they do this from them. He said that in his first seven years he just learned how to swim and explained this with "inside the water the body weight of a person drops to one-tenth and therefore that can do anything" sentence. 

Mr. EROĞLU who said that I became world champion, I have ranks in Europe and I experienced the honor of representing my country with this rank gave the message that disabled people should not sit at home. 

Mr. Uğurcan ÖZER said that he started doing sports for rehabilitation and talked about the disability in his arm. He said that this is how he started to swim and that he met with Mr. Beytullah EROĞLU and did many things by taking him as an example. he said that if we are able to come to somewhere strong people must stand behind us and highlighted the fact that families should be more supportive in those subjects. 

Our seminar in which the topics of the concept of disability, the number of disabled people in Turkey, Paralympics, swimming standards for disabled people were discussed ended with the memorabilia presented by our Founder President Haluk ÜNDEĞER and the collective photo shoot with the members of our Social Responsibility Committee.
