We said "You are not me, we are here" with the joint coordination of our ÜNSPED Social Responsibility Committee and Aegean Regional Directorate in the earthquake of 6.5 magnitude that took place off the coast of Seferihisar district of Izmir on October 30, 2021, in which 1034 people were injured, 117 people died and many families were left homeless.
We set out to help our citizens who are in the middle of the rubble in the earthquake region where indescribable pain is experienced in İzmir.
More than 7 thousand officers, including AFAD, AKUT, Gendarmerie Search and Rescue teams, non-governmental organizations and teams from municipalities, almost raced against time to save the citizens under the rubble day and night. Temporary shelters were created by the Turkish Red Crescent in order to meet the urgent need for shelter. We also visited the tent cities one by one and delivered the aid boxes we prepared together with our company employees to reach the families in need and meet the personal needs.
