Turkish Economy Continues to Grow!

Delivering a speech at the Commercial Diplomacy Awards Ceremony organized by DEIK for the fifth time this year, Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat stated that the global geopolitical crises had some severe economic  consequences. He noted that the most important of these negative consequences are the measures taken against the financial squeeze caused by the contraction in global trade, stagnation in the global economy, and inflation. The Minister stated that such situations negatively impact the world economy and cause fluctuations in the economy.
Minister Bolat continued his words as follows.
"As Türkiye, we also feel it intensely in foreign markets. The shrinkage of world trade by more than 5 percent and the decline in the growth rate of the world economy towards 3 percent and below. Again, the negative interactions in employment were the important effects that remained in our minds as we left 2023 behind. In this regard, DEİK has always performed its duty duly and successfully as an organization that is a source of pride for us with its unique communication capacity through the business council platforms it has established with its counterpart organizations in almost every country. The two organizations we have been working with the most since we took office are DEIK and the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM), which are the two distinguished institutions that we fly abroad together as our two wings, scanning all the countries we fly to together and working hard to see how we can contribute more to Türkiye's foreign trade  and Türkiye's foreign service revenues. It will continue to increase like this, God willing."
In addition, Bolat stated that as the DEİK family, thanks to the intense efforts of private sector organizations, business people, and public institutions, they have reached promising figures in the economic sense in 2023. Stating that Türkiye's exports increased by 5.9 percent in the 3rd quarter of 2023 and that they spent nine months with an average growth of 4.7 percent, Bolat said, "This means the following. Türkiye's economy continued to grow in the last 13 quarters. In a table where Germany shrank by 0.6 percent, and the eurozone grew by 0.5 percent, it is pleasing that we grew by 4.7 percent as Türkiye."
100 Billion Dollar Market Size in Logistics
Minister Bolat stated they are the 4th largest country in the world, with 55 million tourists in 2023. Türkiye obtained 41.4 billion dollars in tourism revenues in 9 months and 50 million dollars in a year. This puts Türkiye in 7th place in the world.
