Foreign trade and customs regulations, especially the Import Regime Decision, are reviewed every year. The only reason for this is not the legislative arrangements that Turkey needs. For example, the World Customs Organization revises and updates the entire Harmonized System Nomenclature every two years. This update was made last year. However, the European Union has also updated its opening code, the Combined Nomenclature code, which consists of 7 and 8 digits.

We have seen that the most important factors determining these regulations, which are called “correlation in the tariff” this year, are “simplification” and “compliance with the green agreement”. In this context, the goods defined under the Customs Tariff and Statistics Position (GTİP) number 417 will now be defined under the number 265. For example, new GTIP has been opened for “sustainable aviation fuel” (SAF), “paraffinic diesel”, “sustainable cotton” and fluorinated greenhouse gases. On the other hand, new GTIP numbers have been determined for 3D printers depending on whether it is a metal layer, plastic-rubber layer, gypsum-cement-ceramic-glass layer or sand-concrete layer. On the other hand, products that are becoming less and less involved in our daily lives are defined under a single GTIP.
