Automotive Sector Maintained Its Leadershıp In Exports

Turkish automotive sector made a powerful start to 2025. In January 2025, it ranked first in the country's exports by realizing exports of 3 billion dollars with an 8 percent increase compared to the same month of the previous year.

    Looking at the export figures in the sub-groups of the automotive sector we can see 1.7 billion dollars for the automotive main industry, 1.3 billion dollars for the automotive sub-industry, 17 million dollars for other vehicles, 568 thousand dollars for mineral fuels and products, 38.3 million dollars of defense and aerospace industry exports. The automotive sector was followed by the chemical and chemical products sector with 2.5 billion dollars and the ready-to-wear and apparel sector with 1.4 billion dollars. The sector that expanded its exports the most in the first month of the year was jewelry with 148.5 percent. However, exports of 3 billion dollars in the agricultural group and 457.9 million dollars in the mining group were made.

 

    The top three export destinations were Germany, the United Kingdom, and the USA, followed by France, Spain, and Italy. The cities with the highest exports in the automotive sector on a provincial basis last month were Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Sakarya, and Ankara.
