A New Era of Collaboration with Istanbul University: First Meeting with the New Administration

Following the change in leadership at Istanbul University, a meeting was held to get to know the new administration and evaluate the existing collaboration.

During the meeting, the “Applied Customs and Foreign Trade Expertise Certificate Program,” carried out under the partnership between Istanbul University’s Continuing Education Center (SEM) and UGM_ONLINE, was discussed in detail. While the program’s current structure, areas for development, and goals for the coming period were evaluated, ideas were also exchanged regarding new educational programs that would strengthen university-sector collaboration.

Representing Istanbul University at the meeting were: SEM Director Prof. Dr. Aslı Beyhan Acar, Faculty of Logistics Dean Prof. Dr. Erkan Çelik, SEM Assistant Veysel Umut Ürgün, and two student representatives from the Faculty of Transportation and Logistics.

Representing our company were Board Member Gürbüz Hocaoğlu, Company Shareholder Yusuf Bulut Öztürk, and from the Human Resources Department, Korhan Aydal, Tamar Sarılı Topçu, and Buket Polat, as well as Rahime Sarıkaya and Nergiz Aka from the Unsped Development Academy.

In addition, our colleagues who joined our company through the Istanbul University Applied Customs and Foreign Trade Expertise Certificate Program—Enez Talip İşbilen (Assistant Operations Specialist), Amine Firez (Assistant Operations Specialist), and Elif Karakoca (Assistant Technical Regulations Specialist)—also attended the meeting. The graduates’ sharing of their experiences with the program contributed to the evaluation of the concrete outcomes of the education-employment relationship.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on mutual goodwill and cooperation regarding the further strengthening of the existing partnership, the development of new training programs tailored to sectoral needs, and potential joint projects to be implemented in the future. It was noted that the strong bond between the university and the private sector will continue to contribute to the development of a qualified workforce.
