If those who drafted the GATT Agreement in 1947 could predict the point Turkey could reach in the logistics sector in the 2000s, in the second paragraph of Article V titled “transit freedom” of the agreement, “The most convenient routes for international transit would be required. transport shall enjoy freedom of transit in the territories of the other Contracting Parties.” After saying "Turkish transporters are out of the scope of this transit freedom." I'm sure they will add a provision.

Although, “What does it change if the provision is not written like that? Despite this provision, don't European countries discriminate against Turkish transporters? There will be those who will say. It is true, however, if this provision had been included in the text of the agreement, our transporters could have consoled themselves by saying, "What should we do, cut a pencil or pen?"

Those who are unfamiliar with the sector ask, “What is the size of our road sector, which scares European countries so much? Will you never give the number of logistics centers in Turkey, the number of vehicles, the number of voyages?” they may ask. Sorry to say I can't. Statistics in the Turkish media are put in front of the Turkish delegation at the Joint Road Transport Commission (KUKK) meetings with European countries, putting Turkey's negotiation position in a difficult position and I will not give it away. However, I think it is enough to say that Turkey has a strong physical infrastructure, strong technological equipment, a strong green truck fleet and a strong human resource in this field.
