In a letter received from the Ministry of Commerce, it is stated that negotiations with the European Commission regarding the suspension of customs duties for non-produced products necessary for our industry, and the opening of tariff quotas for products that are not met by domestic production, are being concluded in meetings where representatives of our country also participate. It is noted that the regulations come into effect on January 1st and July 1st of each year.

In this context, the list of goods for which customs duties are requested to be suspended or tariff quotas applied as of 01/01/2025 by EU or Turkish firms is included in Annex-2, the list of goods for which customs duties are currently suspended is included in Annex-1, and the list of goods for which tariff quotas have been opened by the EU is included in Annex-3.

Therefore, it is stated that our manufacturing companies should submit their objections regarding the suspension of customs duties for the goods listed in Annex-1 by June 7, 2024, and their requests for the termination of the currently applied reduced customs duties for the goods listed in Annex-2 and Annex-3 by May 4, 2024, to the Ministry of Commerce, General Directorate of Import, through official correspondence.
