As of June 1, 2024, surveillance applied to components classified under GTIP 8517.79.00.00.00 will continue as follows:
-For cards belonging exclusively to telephone devices and containing at least one component (including main cards), the surveillance will be set at 100 USD per unit.
-For other components and parts belonging to telephone devices, the surveillance will be set at 5 USD per unit.
Surveillance will not be applied to imports of goods classified under customs statistical positions 8517.71.00.00.00 and 8517.79.00.00.00, which are imported as completely dismantled (CKD) components and parts for use in the production of smartphones.
The exemption granted for imports of 5 units or fewer has been removed.
The revised surveillance application is as follows:
