In a letter received from the Ministry of Commerce, Export General Directorate, referring a letter from the Trade Counselorship of the Permanent Representation of Türkiye to the EU, it is informed about the current implementation status of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2129, which determines the rules for the uniform application of identity checks and physical control frequencies for certain animal and goods shipments entering the Union.

Starting from April 1, 2024, as envisaged in Article 5(3) of Regulation (EU) 2019/2129, any changes in the physical control frequencies of animal-origin products entering the Union will be included in the European Commission's online platform (TRACES). Subsequently, any changes in the physical control frequencies will be automatically updated in the system every six months, specifically on April 1st and October 1st of each year.

It is noted that on TRACES, the frequency rates for physical checks applied to animal-origin products from all third countries can be accessed under the "Publications" section in the "Frequencies of Physical Checks" subsection.
